The first demo tape by the Greek Kings of the stoner rock. It was released with the greek 'zine "Defenders Of The Faith" and contains 4 songs that, although are live recordings, show the first elements of what will become the fantastic sound of their first record "Side FX" three years later. Try to find and listen "Side FX" and check their official site.
Note: This is the first cassette I digitize. I listened it and I think that it sounds OK. Of course the final result depends on the equipment and the quality and storage of the tape. So, please, report any sound problems and if everything is OK I have a lot of tapes to offer.

One of the best neopsych-folk albums during the last 20 years according to my oppinion. This is their third album (actually a mini LP) with six fine songs from this obscure German psych group. Their most known album was their second on Garden Of Delights label in 1993 but this is by far better than everything they did.
Neo-psychedelic with grunge and garage elements. Guitar-dominated and good. Influenced by The Doors, Litter, REM and Green on Red. Doesn’t fit well with the style of the other releases on this label. Playing neo-psychedelic, the band formed in Coesfeld in 1986, is a bit beyond the scope of this label. So far they released a single ("I ran for you" / "So the good will last") in 1991, a mini album ("Details of possession") in 1988, an album ("Reverend Ripov’s media meltdown") in 1994 and in 1993 the CD "In lean hours". One more obscure and out of print collection from the fantastic Australian underground scene of 80's. Not so rare actually but I want to share it with you.
First of all, here you will find three exclusive tracks from the pre-solo days of Louis Tillet. The track that opens this compilation, under the name "Paris Green" , is the only song officially released in a record by them. Charlie Owen plays guitar. Secondly two perfect songs by the Wet Taxis not available elsewhere. Plus Celibate Rifles, Chads Tree etc in a nice bluesy record.

Well back again after almost 5 months of hiatus (and laziness) with a nice compilation by the 17 Pygmies. This is a greek release by the Greek branch of Nate Starkman & Son Records which released only a dozen of records during its existance (1989-1991). Actually this compilation offers the entire "Hatikva" EP on the A side plus ten unreleased tracks from their late 80s period on B side.
Nowadays 17 Pygmies are back again with brand new material and a lot of info that you can find on their MySpace place. As long as you get Missyfish you can hear tracks from their new LP "Ballade Of Tristram's Last Harping".
Louise Bialik is in vocals who still sings under the name Hermione Gart.

Note that there is one more last track at the end of the B side of the record (Sweet Jane) that is not written on the back cover by mistake. I have also included in the file a jpg insert with all the info you want to know about the source of those tracks.

Screaming Lord Sutch - Story

This is a (probably european) bootleg which compiles all of his UK singles from the 60's and their B sides. Although a lot of Sutch's stuff has been released during the years, there is not an easy to find record with all these tracks together. It was released on Skull'n'Bones label with catalog number 7777. Unfortunately, one of his most perfect songs, "The Cheat", is not on this bootleg or elsewhere. There is not even one album in which you can find it, so I have added it in this file in order to offer you all of his A & B sides from his seven singles from the 60's. On the other hand there is the song "Purple People Eater" from a swedish single, back in 1966.
Furthermore you will find perhaps the most complete discography of Screaming Lord Sutch I've seen on the Net, here.

Party Boys - No Aggro (1984)

Two months ago mutantsounds offered us the second LP by Marnie Webber so, as requested there, I offer him (and you) the first LP by the Party Boys.
It was released on the legendary Independent Project Records label in 2000 numbered copies and letterpress artwork (as usual by Bruce Licher). On the insert we read "All songs written and published by Party Boys © 1967" but this album sounds like was released out of time.
After two albums Party Boys disbanded and Marnie followed solo career.

Here we have one more batch of three 7" singles from the 90's with their covers as usual:
1) Διάφανα Κρίνα - Λιώνοντας Μόνος (1994).
Their very rare first single on Wipe Out records. Greek poetic lyrics, dark and strong sound from one of the most famous greek groups in the 90's. Lots of thanks to 16forever for that. They have a perfect site here with eveything you need to know about them but only in greek.
2) Barbie's Dead - Room No. 9 (1995).
One of the best greek garage singles, on Fifth Dimension Records, their sole record with two perfect tracks. This, plus a handful of songs on some compilations compile their whole discography. Here some info about them.
3) Closer - Fly In The Milk (1995).
Their very rare first single on Studio II records. The very first edition was released in a corrugated cardboard cover, as above, and a magazine inside, only in 1500 numbered copies and now costs about 150 euros. A second edition in a normal single cover followed but it is long out of print now. Their first LP was so good that they managed to sign on Chrysalis/EMI. Take a look on their myspace site and try to find their albums.

Mecano - The Half Inch Universe (1996)

Mecano was maybe the best post punk group that came from Netherlands and during their first period (1978-1985) made some great albums, singles and EPs full of "remarkable arrangements, unusual guitar harmonies, with brashness and provocation, converting into an astonishing electric blend" as you can read in their official website. Take a look at their discography and biography as well as news about their reunion.
In 1996 the great greek label Lazy Dog compiled almost the whole of their discography in this double CD compilation and later, in 2002, Mutantjazz label re-released this compilation with different cover. Both of them are very hard to find nowdays so now you can have the greek edition in two parts.

Here we have four 7" singles from the amazing australian underground scene of 80s.
1. New Christs - Waiting World (1981).
The very first single by the New Christs originally released on Green label. Although the "Divine Rites" compilation compiled their first singles and EPs this single is not there because it is the only one that was not released through Citadel label.
2. Fishermen - Can't You Stop (1986).
This is the band that Jeremy Oxley created after the demise of The Sunnyboys in 1985. That band released only this fantastic single on the Waterfront label before their disbandment.
3. Mick Blood & the Pushtwangers - 3rd Reason (1987).
Οccasional collaboration between the singer of the Lime Spiders and the swedish group Pushtwangers. The result was this powerfull single on Rattlesnake label.
4. Dubrovniks - Fireball Of Love (1988).
This is the Dubrovniks first single on Citadel label. A side can be found also on "Positively Elizabeth Street" compilation but B side is available only here.

Villa 21 - Men Of Clay (1985)

After almost one month of hiatus here we are again. In the past two very good greek blogs (16-forever and hidden diaries) offered the most Villa 21 releases. Here with "Men Of Clay" you can complete their discography.
This is their second album and their last on the legendary Creep label. It also marks the end of their dark wave period as they continued with most garage sounds.

Magic Dragon - Emotional Landscape (1981)

"Sing Or Die" by the Courage Of Lassie is one of my favourite albums and here is something special for the fans of the canadian duo.
Long time before Courage Of Lassie, Ron Nelson and Maddy Schenkel recorded this 12" mini LP, their only record under the name Magic Dragon, which was released by the canadian label Friends Records.
More synthy than their work of Courage Of Lassie, this record is a good sample for someone who wants to watch their progressive transformation from synth folk to the acoustic folk style they adopted until their last days in early 90s.

Flowers Of Romance - Dorian Grey (1990) + Love Means Death 12" (1992)

One more release by Wipe Out Records the first LP by The Flowers Of Romance, one of the most "famous" goth rock greek groups. Although they was created in the early 80s they should wait until the dawn of 90s to release their first LP. During the 80s they made only one tape entitled "Anovis" in 1986. Two years later they released the 12" EP "Love Means Death" which contains on its B side a cover of "Paint It Black" and the song "Autumn Kids" which was their first vinyl appearance on the various compilation "Wipe Out Presents: 12 Raw Greek Groups" back in 1988.

Various - Viva Los Angeles Volume 1 (1986)

L.A. post punk scene was one of my favourite during the 80s and this compilation was the corner stone of this scene. Very rare in our days, it was released by the Italian Viva label and was the label's first release. It covers a period of about 5 years (1980-1985). In 1989 Viva Records released the second volume which you can find it on lost-in-tyme blog and it covers the second period of the scene (1986-1989). The only problem if you download these two compilations is that you miss the excellent insert books they offer with info, discographies, photos and texts about the groups and labels that create this scene. So if you find them in a record store buy them and pay without hesitation. Their original vinyl editions are treasures. Here you can enjoy only its music part.

Κατά βάσιν άλλο είχα στο μυαλό μου να ανεβάσω αλλά δυο επισκέπτες ζήτησαν το μοναδικό mini LP των Jaywalkers στη Virgin που έχει λάβει διαστάσεις θρύλου, οπότε ας μη τους χαλάσω το χατίρι. Και επειδή δεν μπορούσαν να μπουν μόνοι τους, έβαλα στον ίδιο φάκελο και το mini LP των Blue Jeans που ήταν το δεύτερο νούμερο της Wipe Out, χρόνια εξαφανισμένο και αυτό.

Sex Museum - Independence (1989)

This is one of the most beautiful garage albums of the 80's, the second LP by the Spanish Sex Museum from Madrid. Their first appearance was in the fourth volume of Battle Of Garages by Voxx Records (the first 4 volumes of the series can be found at lost-in-tyme) whereas their first LP was the very rare Fuzz Face back in 1987 which you can find it at mutandsounds.

Purple Overdose - Indigo (1990)

Το 1990 σηματοδότησε το τέλος της πρώτης εποχής της Pegasus Records που μετά από 8 δίσκους θα αναστείλει για τρία χρόνια τις κυκλοφορίες της για να επανέλθει το 1993 με νέα συγκροτήματα στο δυναμικό της. Αυτά λοιπόν τα 8 πρώτα νούμερα της εταιρίας είναι κατά κανόνα και τα πιο δύσκολα και ένα από αυτά έχουμε εδώ. Είναι ο δεύτερος δίσκος των Purple Overdose μετά το "Exit #4" με κωδικό PEG 007. Και οι δυο πρώτοι δίσκοι του συγκροτήματος επανακυκλοφόρησαν κάπου στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του 90, και μάλιστα σε έγχρωμα βινύλια, αλλά εξαφανίστηκαν και αυτά γρήγορα. Όσο για το Exit #4 βγήκε και πρόσφατα σε CD μαζί με το ΠΟΠ+ΡΟΚ.

Walkabouts - 22 Disasters EP (1984)

Γιαυτό εδώ δε νομίζω να χρειάζονται πολλά σχόλια. Το πρώτο EP των Walkabouts αφού είχε προηγηθεί μια κασσέτα με τέσσερα τραγούδια. Μόνο 1000 κόπιες και φυσικά δεν επανεκδόθηκε ποτέ.
Από μουσικής άποψης βέβαια μην περιμένετε και πολλά πράγματα, οι τύποι παίζουν ακόμα σα χαϊβάνια. Αργότερα θα έρθουν τα καλά, αλλά για ιστορικούς λόγους αξίζει να το έχετε.

Τρία δύσκολα ελληνικά δισκάκια μικρής διάρκειας για τη συνέχεια από το δεύτερο μισό της δεκαετίας του 80. Θα τα βρείτε όλα στον ίδιο φάκελο φυσικά με όλα τα εξώφυλλά τους. Περιττό να πώ ότι και τα τρία έχουν εξαφανιστεί εδώ και χρόνια από προσώπου γης.

X Mandarina Duck - Non Stop 7" (1986).
Το πρώτο νούμερο της Wipe Out Records (WOR 001) με το Γρηγόρη Βάϊο στην παραγωγή. Οι βραχύβιοι X Mandarina Duck είχαν εμφανιστεί ένα χρόνο πιο πριν στη συλλογή Outsiders της DiDi Records (κλασσική συλλογή που μπορείτε να τη βρείτε στη Μουσική Κιβωτό) και μετά απ'το παρόν single εξαφανίστηκαν.

Το Φως Και Η Σκιά Του - Ομώνυμο EP (1986).
Αυτό είναι το τέταρτο νούμερο της Wipe Out Records (WOR 004) που κουβαλάει πίσω του αρκετή δόση θρύλου. Πρόκειται ουσιαστικά για τους Last Drive σε ένα εγχείρημα που δεν επανέλαβαν ποτέ ξανά. EP με τέσσερα κομμάτια και ελληνικούς στίχους σε πιο πειραματική διάθεση ειδικά στη δεύτερη πλευρά. Και εδώ έχει βάλει το χεράκι του ο Γρηγόρης Βάϊος στην παραγωγή.

Ding An Sich - And... 7" (1989).
Απίστευτο επτάιντζο, η πρώτη κυκλοφορία των Ding An Sich (Terra Incognita Corporation με κωδικό 7TIC1) που κυκλοφόρησε νομίζω με το fanzine Fangazine (εδώ θέλω τη βοήθειά σας γιατί δεν είμαι και σίγουρος). Η μετέπειτα πορεία των Ding An Sich είναι γνωστή αλλά αυτό εδώ το τραγούδι τους, αν και προτώλειο, είναι ένα απ'τα καλύτερά τους.

Last Drive - Midnite Hop EP reissue

Οι περισσότεροι θα το έχετε πληροφορηθεί φυσικά αλλά για κάποιους που ξέμειναν νομίζω ότι αξίζει να το αναφέρω. Ο λόγος φυσικά για το πρώτο EP των Last Drive που μέχρι πρόσφατα έπρεπε να δώσεις ένα σκασμό λεφτά για να το πάρεις στην original κόπια του (1985, Art Nouveau Productions) κι αυτό στην περίπτωση που το έβρισκες κάπου.
Ευτυχώς όμως που βρέθηκε η Blind Bastard Records ένα νεοσύστατο label να το επανακυκλοφορήσει και μάλιστα όπως ήταν στην αρχική μορφή του. Αυτό όμως που αξίζει να αναφέρουμε είναι ότι όλα τα δισκάκια της εταιρίας (που δε θα είναι πάνω από 4-5) πωλούνται σε τιμές κόστους (5-7 ευρώ) και με αντίστοιχη ένδειξη στο εξώφυλλο. Προσωπικά το αγόρασα κατευθείαν από την ιστοσελίδα τους (αν και υπάρχει και στα "σεσημασμένα" δισκάδικα), το πλήρωσα μόνο 5 ευρώ και μου ήρθε σε ένα όμορφο πακετάκι με καρτούλες αλλά και με ένα promo CD ενός καινούργιου συγκροτήματος των Misty Blue Boys με δυο τραγούδια.

Moffs - Entomology (1988)

Many of us would remember the Moffs and most of all will have registered in our memory "Another Day In The Sun" as one of the most beautiful singles of the 80's that came from the country of the most venomous beings on Earth. With basic member our compatriot Tom Kazas they left behind three singles and two full albums, all in the legendary Citadel Records, which are now hard to find. But their most difficult to find record is that very rare compilation called Entomology that Citadel released before their disbandment. In the ten songs you can find their three singles, with their b sides, three songs from their first album and one more completely unpublished.

Groove Machine - Destroy The Presence Of This World (1993)

Ένας απ'τους πιο δύσκολους δίσκους του ελληνικού rock της δεκαετίας του 90 είναι ο πρώτος των Groove Machine. Διαπίστωσα πρόσφατα ότι αρκετοί τον ψάχνουν και δικαίως μιας και τον έβγαλαν εντελώς μόνοι τους, σε περιορισμένα αντίτυπα και φυσικά δεν επανεκδόθηκε ποτέ. Έχω να τον δώ περίπου δέκα χρόνια και για την ακρίβεια από τότε που τον αγόρασα το 1997 δεν τον έχω ξαναδεί. Στον ίδιο φάκελο, εκτός από τα 7 τραγούδια του album, θα βρείτε και σαν bonus τα Richard Brautigan (σε διαφορετική εκτέλεση από αυτή του LP από τη συλλογή Fragmenta IV του fanzine B23 στα 1992), τα In Those Days και Nowadays (το πρώτο ανέκδοτο και το δεύτερο σε διαφορετική εκτέλεση από αυτή του LP, από τη συλλογή Fragmenta V του fanzine B23 επίσης στα 1992) και το φοβερό Virous Inside (από τη συλλογή The Thing From Another World Vol. 1 του fanzine The Thing στα 1995 και το οποίο αν δεν κάνω κάποιο λάθος μπήκε και στο δεύτερο album τους) καθώς και τα εξώφυλλα του album.
Αυτά λοιπόν και βουρ στον πατσά!!!

Γειά χαρά! Αποφάσισα να ανεβάζω που και που διάφορα albums από την ελληνική και την ξένη rock σκηνή που είναι δύσκολο να βρεθούν, είτε γιατί δεν έχουν επανακυκλοφορήσει και είναι δύσκολο να βρεθούν στην πρώτη έκδοσή τους, είτε γιατί μπορεί κάποτε να επανακυκλοφόρησαν και να εξαφανίστηκαν εμέσως. Ταυτόχρονα αν παίρνω χαμπάρι κάποια επανακυκλοφορία που να αξίζει τον κόπο (κυρίως από τον ελληνικό χώρο και εδώ θέλω τη βοήθειά σας) θα το αναφέρω με λεπτομέριες για το πως μπορείτε να την αγοράσετε και αν πρόκειται για κάτι που το έχω ανεβάσει θα αποσύρω το link και θα σας προτρέπω να το αγοράσετε.
Όλα αυτά σημαίνουν ότι δεν πρέπει να περιμένετε κανένα καταιγισμό από posts (δεν είμαι και ο Mutant Sounds!!!), τα posts θα είναι λίγα, αραιά και καλά.
Εννοείται ότι τα σχόλιά σας μου είναι απαραίτητα και όσοι βρίσκουν χρήσιμα αυτά που ανεβάζω ας με διαφημίσουν και πουθενά αλλού.
